The Nea Skete is a small monastic dependency which belongs to the Monastery of Agiou Pavlou (St. Paul) on Mount Athos. The skete was founded in 1760 on the site of previous developments which included a small church (kyriako - i.e. the Sunday or main church) dedicated to the Nativity of the Theotokos (Virgin Mary) built in 1757. The complex contains about 30 monastic cells and a library that boasts some 200 manuscripts, 500 prints, about 20 codices, and multiple relics.
