This is a core collection of primary and secondary sources that record and illuminate the Black experience, from ancient Africa through modern times with detailed coverage in history, literature, political science, sociology, philosophy, and religion. Included are the Schomberg Studies on the Black Experience with 30 scholarly overviews on Black Studies themes including: theory, methodology, and pedagogy; ideology, identity and assumptions; the Black Condition; origins; cultural life; and social justice. Also included is the Black Literature Index with coverage from 1827-1940 which allows users to search more than 70,000 bibliographic citations for fiction, poetry and literary reviews published in 110 black periodicals and newspapers between.
