- Description
- The World of Dante offers a hypermedia environment for the study of the Inferno. This project is designed to appeal to the different purposes of a wide range of readers, not simply those with scholarly interests. Included are searchable texts of the Italian-language original of the Inferno as edited by Giorgio Petrocchi and published by Mondadori (Milan, Italy, 1966-67; 2nd ed., Florence, Le Lettere, 1994); The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri and Inferno, translated by Alan Mandelbaum (New York, Bantam Books, 1980); and a wide variety of pertinent visual material. The latter includes the site's own dynamically generated VRML visualization of Dante's Inferno; this requires a VMRL viewer.
