Description
Previously known as Vocabolario 1612, this is an online version of the first edition of the prestigious Vocabolario degli Accademici della Crusca, a normative dictionary of the Italian language based on written sources from the Middle Ages onward. This edition, originally published in 1612, offers in its electronic form a now richly indexed historic vocabulary, derived chiefly from printed editions of the sixteenth century, of literary, ecclesiastical, administrative, commercial, scientific, and military Italian principally from the Tuscan dialect of Florence and its environs. A print dictionary is usually searchable through alphabetically ordered headings only, whereas in this version one can search the entire contents in a variety of different ways in order to extract embedded grammatical, lexical, and other information according to one's own particular needs.
