  • Description The Birds of North America Online (BNA Online) is a comprehensive and current reference work detailing the life histories of North American birds. The series provides detailed scientific information for each of the 716+ species of birds nesting in the USA and Canada. BNA Online is the online version of the print work completed in 2002, which was the joint project of the American Ornithologist's Union, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and the Academy of Natural Sciences. Now, as an online project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, BNA Online is a living resource, with regular updates. In addition, BNA Online contains image and video galleries showing plumages, behaviors, habitat, nests and eggs, and more. Most BNA online accounts also feature recordings of the songs and calls of their species. (Updates regularly, often monthly)
