Describes changes the Winnebago and Menominee Indians in Wisconsin have seen on their ancestral lands since the Frenchman Jean Nicolet arrived in 1634. The first segment contains reenactments of Nicolet's landing at Red Banks and details some of the changes for the native peoples including the introduction of new diseases and loss of land. The second segment looks at policies of the United States toward the Menominees and Winnebagos in the twentieth century, and the third segment describes how the tribes are currently resurging both financially and in their traditional and spiritual ways.
