"Students and educators face varied and considerable barriers related to scientific content that are fundamental to the long-term advancement of science in our country. We propose to investigate the research issues involved with the best delivery of a Materials Digital Library (MatDL.org) using a three-pronged approach: Materials Curriculum: use of the Materials Digital Library content within the materials curriculum by students and educators. Materials Content: collection of existing materials content, with special emphasis on soft matter. Materials Authoring Tools: construction of authoring tools to submit, edit, and compose so that novice and expert resource providers can easily contribute, find, and learn with materials."
