"The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized the Second Asian and Pacific Ministerial Conference on Women in Development at Jakarta from 7 to 14 June 1994. The objectives of the Conference were to review and appraise implementation of the Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Avancement of Women and to adopt a regional plan of action for the advancement of women in Asia and the Pacific.
