A prince, dying of gloom, is cured when he laughs upon seeing the sorceress, Fata Morgana, fall down. As revenge, she makes him fall in love with three oranges. Upon finding the oranges in a desert, the prince discovers that each contains a princess. The first two die of thirst, but the third is revived and lives happily ever after with the prince.
