Arranged in four groups: I. Vocal scores (16). II. Librettos (2). III. Promptbooks (13). IV. Dialogue parts (63).
Eight of the vocal scores are in French (pub. in Paris by Choudens, 1886). All other material is in English, including a vocal score published by Ditson (Boston, 1886) and vocal scores and librettos of Sydney Rosenfeld's adaptation "The bridal trap, or Love's vow" published by Woodward (New York, 1886). Other titles represented by the collection include "The golden hen, or The maiden's vow" and "The crowing hen." The manuscript promptbooks and dialogue parts under the latter title are indicated to be the "McCaull version" of the opera.
