A few letters by Christopher Gadsden, John Mackenzie, and William Wragg are included.
"The letters ... were written in ... South Carolina, in the year 1769, in consequence of the resolutions which had been formed in that colony on the 28th of June and the 22d of July in the same year, to prevent the importation of British manufactures .... The ... letters ... are ... now delivered to the public in the order in which they appeared in the South Carolina gazette."
