Color transparency copies of paintings of scenes, cities and locks along the Fox River Canal, from Portage to Green Bay, Wisconsin. The original paintings, 1856, are by Samuel M. Brookes and Thomas H. Stevenson; included is a portrait of Morgan L. Martin by the same artists. Martin commissioned the paintings for the Fox-Wisconsin Improvement Company. A portfolio of color reproductions of the paintings, issued by the Bergstrom Paper Company of Neenah, Wisconsin, 1968, is catalogued separately. The original paintings are in the collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society.
