World War II papers of Dobrinski, mainly 1940-1945, consisting primarily of correspondence between Gilbert and his wife, Rosela, while he served in Germany and details Gilbert's daily experiences as a soldier and later as a prisoner of war. Correspondence also includes letters among Gilbert's brother, Gordon, his wife Kitty, and their children documenting their marriage in England in 1944, Gordon's time as a prisoner of war, and the adoption of Kitty's second child, Valerie. Also included is a published scrapbook entitled, "Kriegie Memories," and compiled by Gilbert's fellow POW Ben H. Phelper detailing their experiences as prisoners of war in Stalag 17B.
