Papers of Bernadine George regarding her missionary work during the mid-1940s in Guatemala and records of Big Patch and Westview Primitive Methodist Churches in Platteville Wisconsin. George's missionary work is documented through correspondence from George to her family and church while working in Quiche, Guatemala (1945-1947), an oral history of her experiences there, an article describing her parents' visit to Guatemala (1946-1947), and a religious history of the Quiche Tribe prior to its Christianization. The papers related to her church consist of historical and genealogical records of the Big Patch and Westview Primitive Methodist Churches, photographs from church events and of church members, and records of Big Patch Church attendance and membership (1859-1862). Also included are account ledgers (1876-1890) of a local hardware store owned by George Fox, and a handwritten "Birth Day Book" (1899) by Jennie H. Fox including birth dates, local marriages, deaths, popular songs, and poems and proverbs.
