Papers, 1908-1987, of a Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Congregational minister, Robert W. Kingdon, and his wife, Catherine M. Kingdon. The papers reflect the Kingdons' long service to the Congregational Church and the United Church of Christ (UCC) in Wisconsin.

Robert Kingdon attended the Chicago Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1928. His first pastorate was at Kahului, Maui, 1928-1936. Kingdon also served in Honolulu, 1936-1940. The Kingdons moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1940 and held the pastorate there from 1940 until Rev. Kingdon's retirement in 1968. After retirement the Kingdons served interim pastorates in Hawaii. Included in this collection are Reverend Kingdon's sermons including special prayers and other lectures; personal ministerial records including yearly calendars; correspondence, incoming and outgoing, with and about church members, such as George W. Mead, and activities; files concerning the First Congregational Church of Wisconsin Rapids including a church history; Catherine Kingdon's Mission Education and Wisconsin Fellowship of Congregational Christian Women (WFCCW) files; General Congregational Council/UCC General Synod files focusing on the merger of the Congregational Church with the Evangelical and Reformed Church to form the United Church of Christ; and newspaper clippings about the church and the Kingdons' work.
