Additions, 1926-1981, consisting of published material and unpublished manuscripts, correspondence, materials from activities and organizations in which Rovere participated, and diaries and date books. The manuscript material consists of articles (1940s-1960s) Rovere wrote for periodicals such as "Harper's" and the "Spectator," as well as his regular "Letter from Washington" in the "New Yorker." Also included are early drafts of Rovere's memoir "Who, What, When, Where, and Why: My Life and Times, A Memoir in Progress," and the full manuscript as completed by Jeannette Hopkins. There are also book reviews written by Rovere, reviews of many of his books, as well as contracts and correspondence from publishers. Additionally, there are files concerning the various activities and organizations in which Rovere was involved including his affiliation with the Communist and Socialist parties in the 1930s and 1940s. The diaries and date books (1960s-1970s) record his day-to-day activities and notes for various projects. Accessions M85-449 and M86-214 have been integrated into this addition. Qty: 4.0 c.f.
