Papers of a managing editor and general manager of the Waukesha (Wisconsin) Daily Freeman, consisting of a taped interview and a scrapbook compiled to support the nomination of the Freeman for a Pulitzer Prize in 1952. The scrapbook contains correspondence, press releases, and clippings concerning the paper's attempt to change secrecy policy in Waukesha County government. Also included are some exchanges relating to the interest of the Wisconsin Daily Newspaper League in freedom of information legislation. The taped interview deals with the paper's history, its service to the county, and the history of the area.
