Transcripts of articles of association of corporations which include name and place of business, statement of purpose, names of subscribers, number of shares of capital stock held by each subscriber and amount paid for it, notarization, and date of filing. From 1879 to 1883 only the name of the corporation and date of filing are given. Transcripts constitute volumes 1 (1848-1877), 2 (1872-1877), and 3 (1877-1883). Volume 4 contains an index which extends to 1893 and gives corporation name, certificate number, place and purpose of business, and date of filing.

About 1893 a new indexing and filing system for the corporation division was instituted and is still in use; all certificate numbers in the four volumes were changed to the present filing numbers.
