Photocopies of three diaries (1906-1911) kept by Precourt recording daily activities of life on the homestead farm near Buena Vista, Wis. (Portage County), with her son Lyman and his family. Farm chores, potato planting and harvesting, livestock problems, the comings and goings of neighbors and relatives, births, and deaths are among the events noted. The diaries are punctuated with caricatures and small drawings. Also included is a volume of Victorian verse written by Precourt's daughter-in-law, Lucy Shortell Precourt, about her children and marriage. The volume is prefaced with a brief family history, and was compiled and published in 1986 by Lucy's granddaughter, Kathleen (Precourt) Wheeler.
