Records of the Association, formed in 1949 as the Milwaukee County Mental Health Committee. Organized by local health administrators and professionals, the committee was formed to provide a county-level organization that would work with the Wisconsin Association for Mental Health. Included are subject files on an annual Mental Health Week, lectures and panel discussions, preparation of educational materials, and assistance of state and county mental health facilities.
Photographs include portraits of committee members taken by the Milwaukee Journal newspaper, circa 1950-1952.
