Ten letters written by Gunnar Larsen of Superior, Wisconsin to his parents and sister while he was serving in the Army during World War I. Letters date from June 29, 1918 when he was stationed at Camp Wadsworth through January 11, 1919 when he was in France. Larsen served as a sergeant in Co. G, 6th Ammunition Train. Dealing largely with general observations about Army life, the letters also comment on war time censorship and describe the Armistice celebration at the front. Also included is biographical information, a brief history of Co. G, and photographs of Larsen and one of a patriotic parade in Superior.
