Consisting of the opinions of Chief Justice Charles Ewing (p. [3]-60) and of Associate Justice George K. Drake (p. 60-90), on a case of a dispute over a loan made to Thomas L. Shotwell in 1821 from the school fund of the Chesterfield Preparative Meeting. The Meeting split into Orthodox and Hicksite faction in 1827, and repayment of the loan was subsequently claimed by both Joseph Hendrickson (treasurer of the fund for the Orthodox faction) and Stacy Decow (treasurer of the fund for the Hicksite faction). Joseph Hendrickson filed a bill for relief against Thomas Shotwell, to which Shotwell replied with a bill of interpleader against Hendrickson and Stacy Decow.
