Purportedly a reworking of Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin written in "iazychie" (also sometimes called Old Ruthenian, an artificial literary East Slavic language used in the 19th century and the early 20th century in Halychyna, Bukovina, and Zakarpattia in publishing, among Ukrainian and Carpatho-Rusyn Russophiles (i.e., Moskvophiles). An unsystematic combination of Russian with the lexical, phonetic and grammatical elements of vernacular Ukrainian and Rusyn, Church Slavonic, Ruthenian, Polish, and Old Slavic. Orest Arsenoych Avdykovs'kyi (1842-1913) also published a reworking of _Robinson Crusoe_.
