In this experiment four single, highly-experienced controllers were each in turn required to control simulated aircraft from entry points fifty miles out to the GCA gate. The entry conditions were chosen to simulate aircraft returning from a combat-type mission in a forward zone. System performance was measured over a series of problems, each of which involved handling ten F-86 and ten B-47 type aircraft.
