The film focuses on the relationship between the FGR and USSR during the Chancellorship of Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt, and how opinions towards the USSR changed during this period. Features archive footage from the 1969 elections and the election of Brandt, the signing of the Moscow treaty, and a meeting between Brandt and Brezhnev. An overview of the economic situation in the FGR is given, followed by details of how the economic relationship and trade with the USSR has improved this.
