This unique trio that is performing at the Moods Club in 2018 is made up of Cretan Lyra maestro Stelios Petrakis (also a lute and Ottoman lavta player), Spaniard Efrén Lopez, who switches between the hurdy gurdy, the ogür sazi, the lute, and the kpuz, and finally, the Franco-Iranian Bijan Chemirani - son of the great master Djamshid Chemirani - on several pieces of Iranian percussion (zarb, bendir, riq, doira, and daf) - son of the great Iranian zarb master, Djamshid Chemirani. Different origins harmonize wonderfully; this trio is evidence of beauty in diversity. Though the melodies were developed on separate lands, they combine with delicacy and refinement from across the seas. It's a sound with rawness and complexity, weaving medieval melody into traditional Mediterranean repertoire. Such a blend is surprising, but it feels achieved without artifice, and the result conjures a dreamlike state. This kind of effect has led onlookers to dub the group "artisans of beauty" - their creations, once experienced, are completely captivating. Here, the group showcase songs from their debut album, *Mavra Foudia* (black eyebrows), from 2010, with works from their latest album *Taos* (peacock), released in 2017. Not to be missed! **Anaïs Christidis Guillemard**.
