Bichaka Fayissa is Professor of Economics at Middle Tennessee State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research focuses on the economic growth and development policies of African countries related to remittances, tourism, aid-for-trade, and international trade. Fayissas publications have appeared in World Development, Journal of Development Studies, Applied Economics, Journal of International Development, The World Economy, and Tourism Economics.
