Films created by amateur film maker Harold Last, principally in the Green Bay (Wis.) and Milwaukee (Wis.) area. In "Memories," (1940) Last films daily life in his hometown of Ellisville (Wis.) depicting the rhythms of community life through the four seasons including winter sledding, spring planting, summer cultivation, and fall harvesting, and the religious and civic tradiitions of the community. Last also entered film making contests one of which was his film "Gems of American Architecture" (1940) which was a tongue in cheek documentary on the fictional Comfort Construction Company's line of custom outhouses and those of their competitors. Accompanying the film is a printed pamphlet with the same title as well as the original narration cards for the silent film. Also of note is his film "I'll Make My Own" (1941) in which a young Bobby Last creates his own WWII Victory Garden. Additionally, Last films his brothers wedding, church and school dedications, and family trips to Canada and Macinac Island.
