Martha Rhody writes about her experiences as a student in the one-room schoolhouse of Jump River Public School in Ogema (Price County, Wis.) in the late 1940s-1950s. Rhody (nee Kubes) describes students daily classroom routine, playing during recess, performing in the Christmas program and the required monthly goiter treatment for each student. Also included is a map locating the school and copies of photographs of the schoolhouse building (1965), Martha in front of the school (1947), and a class photo (1947). The school was closed in 1959.
