This dataset outlines how to create a prism map of enterprise and employment data in the Helsinki metropolitan region, using a subset of the 2017 Helsinki Region Environmental Services Authority (HSY) data and the QGIS software. Prism maps are used to visualize areal unit map data in a three-dimensional form, and enable the reader to quickly locate value peaks or aberrations in particular geographic areas. The prism map uses both color and three-dimensional height to encode value. You will learn to identify ideal use cases and best practices for employing the prism map in your work.
