This case study summarizes a symbolic interactionist view of student satisfaction in transnational education while observing for moderator effects of cultural ideologies. Emphasis will be on the most intricate precepts in research data collection and analysis. Within these precepts are fundamental enquiries that compel the researcher to weigh the requirements of completing an effective research. Some of the questions often asked by researchers are, Why conduct this research? What is its feasibility? What is the best fit model of analysis and what is its contribution to the body of knowledge? In the research cited in this case, several considerations were given to the best fit model of analysis. Considering that this research required a moderating interaction of variables, it was best to utilize Hayes Process Macros for SPSS. The intent was to observe the slope of the regression lines and pick a precise point where moderator interaction would occur. For an effective research, the researcher must have inquiring minds and a thirst for knowledge. Research is iterative and flexible, hence the continuous growth in ideas. It is important to note that numbers matter to the outcome of a research. Whether you are conducting a qualitative research or a quantitative research, the statistics behind the result requires a clear understanding of scaling and data analysis. Data analysis often creates a blurred line between the desire to proceed and the reality of an intended success. Many students would walk into a statistics class with grave apprehension for data analysis. This case will delve into some of the sociological and the practical aspects of research. Finally, it is my hope that this case will motivate students to develop the mind-set for executing an effective research.
