Toy theater and small hand crank to roll scroll of images across the back of a hollow box. The box and stage are decorated with color chromolithographed scenes pasted on wood. The front of the screen has a celluloid screen illustrated with a black wrought iron fence. When the scroll is turned, the images on the scroll pass behind the fence for the audience to view. The scrolls are made of pasted sheets of translucent paper with stencilled black images that are made in a barrier grid fashion. The scrolls are attached to two wooden spools with attached strong and stiff metal wires that can be placed on metal holders on either side of the back of the stage. There is crank mechanism to scroll the screens across the back of the hollow stage. Different scenes and stories are included in interchangeable scrolls. The illustrated image on the box has a depiction of a red-headed gentleman in a brown suit holding a bowler hat standing on the left side of the screen (depicting Charles Prince (1872-1933) in the role of "Rigadin") and a Charlie Chaplin "Little Tramp" character in black and white checked trousers standing on the right.
