The load capacities of four aluminum-alloy radial-engine crank-pin bearings were determined in a centrifugal bearing test machine. All the alloys had a load capacity in excess of 6000 pounds per square inch. The average load capacity for the best alloy of the group was greater than 9000 pounds per square inch. All the aluminum-alloy bearings were found to seize more suddenly and severely than comparable copper-lead or silver-lead-indium bearings.
