Copy in hand typographically identical to the issues of "The sailor boy" and "The sailor" that were issued in the boxed set "My little box of books. Twelve volumes. With brightly-colored pictures. ... New York: published by W.H. Appleton, 92 and 94 Grand Street."--numbered series list, inside upper cover of box. William Henry Appleton was listed alternately at 92 and 94 Grand St. between 1865 and 1867. (He was listed at 96 Grand St. in 1866.).
