China Girl is a documentary that explores China's one child policy which was introduced as a measure to stabilise China's burgeoning population and now has resulted in over 500,000 abortions and many more girls being killed once they have been born. The program looks at the underlying issues, from the increase of professional women in China who have rejected their traditional role, to the overwhelming lack of women in the provinces and why China's crime rate has tripled in the last 20 years, with police struggling with loutish behavior, gangs and the disappearance of young women.
