Kypros Nicolaides, a workaholic who expects miracles from his staff and courage from his patients, is at the head of the King's College Foetal Unit. He is held in high regard for his diagnostic techniques and unique operating skills, yet he is a mix of contradictions; he fights for the lives of unborn babies, but does many abortions on healthy ones. Flamboyant, warm and charismatic, Kypros loves children, but hardly sees his own. His patients expect miracles and sometimes they get them, but sometimes they don't.
