Recently, Brian checked yes next to a hospital questionnaire that indicates he's currently having suicidal thoughts and appears almost eager for this interview. Following up on the questionnaire, the nurse asks Brian whether he is suicidal, to which Brian confidentially responds yes. In a speech that is perhaps well rehearsed, Brian expounds that he always likes "to keep suicide as an option on the table." He explains that suicide is an absolutely viable option since he has Cystic Fibrosis, an incurable disease. Brian details his quality of life, which is miserable but he's used to it. Recently, Brian has been feeling depressed since he has been stuck in the hospital away from his friends, and contracting pneumonia again, and fears that his lung transplant is failing.
