"This book is one of twenty-five editioned copies made for a book arts class in the later part of the fall semester of 2006 at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point. The book was inspired by the images that make up the book. The images were selected from an album of pictures of my father while he served as a medical assistant for the Iranian Army. These are not the original images, but commercially reproduced copies. The text, which is handwritten by my dad in Farsi, explains each image. The pages are cut from Strathmore black Artagain paper. The title page was printed on the Vandercook Letter Press with green ink. The paper used for the inside of the covers and for the concertina is green screen-printed Napa paper. A Coptic stitch was used for the binding and black book cloth was used for the covers. The many long hours and hard work put into this project are dedicated to my dad--Esmail."--Colophon.
Multiple signatures sewn coptic stitch into a concertina guard, cased in cloth covered boards. Letterpress printed onto machine-made papers. Silkscreen-printed endpapers. Glossy, black and white photographic prints. Book cloth.
