A semi-monthly publication, The Nez Perce Indian was published by the Nez Perce Indian Agency and edited by Superintendent Theodore Sharp. Dr Daniel Littlefield, Jr of the Sequoyah National Research Center would describe this newsletter as "somewhat typical of an Indigenous publication in this time". This collection includes one issue dated from 1914 which contains a variety of advice and local news. The centrepiece of this particular issue is a tribute to R. H. Pratt, the "founder of Carlisle" and focusses on his work setting up the Carlisle Indian School.
