Former series 9/4/19.

The Wisconsin Farm Labor Program records (1942-1948) contain reports, correspondence, research project materials, and information on laborers from the West Indies, migrant Texas-Mexicans, and German prisoners of war. Information includes where certain groups and individuals were assigned to work within Wisconsin and other Midwestern states, types of crops grown and in what region, information on family-run farms, and crop yields. The collection also includes newspaper clippings on backlash towards migrant cherry-pickers in Door County, Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Farm Labor Program records span between 1942-1948. The bulk of the content ranges between 1943-1945. The collection contains information on emergency farm labor, largely within the state of Wisconsin, and the recruitment and placement of migratory and foreign laborers on farms across the Midwest. Contents include correspondence, newspaper clippings, reports, employment information, placement of workers, placement of German prisoners of war and their assigned encampments, booklets, posters, training manuals, as well as pamphlets, newsletters, bulletins, and manuals on farm procedures.
