Translation, by Bernard de Reste, of the Dutch original, Nieuwe beschryving der walvisvangst en haringvisschery, printed in four volumes in Amsterdam, 1791, thought to have been compiled by V. van der Plaats from the work of Cornelis Gijsbertsz.
This work is often erroneously attributed to Dirk de Jong, Hendrik Kobell, and Mathias de Salieth, who were the engravers for the original Dutch publication. Cf. Sabin.
