The romance of Celtic culture has long cast its spell, lost in enchanted mists and legends. Now with presenter Phil Bennett, head of archaeological heritage at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, we seek to discover the reality of this fascinating people. Castell Henllys, set among the wild hills and forests of northern Wales, was one of their homesteads between 600 BC and the 1st century AD. From settlement to abandonment, all aspects of the Celtic life are examined, at war and in peace. Castell Henllys re-creates the rich ancient past, providing a unique insight into a Celtic tribe living in a fort of the Iron Age and offering an explanation as to what became of the people who once inhabited it.
