Texas Congressman John E. Davis introduces an instructional narrative about the National Defense Transportation Association. In it a father tells his three children about his relationship with their local chapter of the NDTA. He provides the NDTA's history and tells the story of how he helped direct transportation services to provide aid during a local hurricane. During this retelling we see the father working in a control office, transportation services being utilized in the field, and real disaster footage. The father also provides more specific history, describing in depth how the NDTA helped with disasters in Montana and Alaska.
