It is essential to open the debate on a topic of crucial importance in the field of citizen security: the dialectical relations between violence and politics, expressed in the fact that violence has produced-- implicitly and explicitly-- links with politics and that in the search for citizen security is also strongly present, which shows that violence is a fundamental element in the construction and exercise of power. Even more necessary because of the growing weight that the reciprocal link between violence, security and politics has acquired, despite the fact that it has not yet been given the importance it has, both in studies and in the design of policies. Moreover, this "omission" has to do with the explicit position of denying the existence of politics in violence and security proposals; which, obviously, is a political position, because in seeing this reality it is denied to the set of political and economic actors that directly and indirectly benefit from security. In other words, those who affirm this reality of apoliticism end up acting politically, favoring specific legal and illegal groups.
