Papers of Milo K. Swanton (1894-1993) of Blooming Grove (Dane County, Wis.). Swanton graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1916 and later served as Executive Secretary of the Wisconsin Council of Agricultural Co-operative for over twenty-five years. He also held memberships in the National Agricultural Advisory Commission, Wisconsin Farm Bureau, the Wisconsin Grange, the Council on Aging, and was a past-president of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The majority of the collection is comprised of Swanton's farm and household financial records (1927-1989).The collection also includes correspondence from other members of the Wisconsin Council of Agricultural Co-operative, as well as newsletters and conference programs related to the organization (1943-1970). Additionally there are both personal letters and correspondence he wrote and received while serving as Executive Secretary for the WCAC (1944-1959, 1967-1970). Assorted records from the Council on Aging, including an agenda, reports, financial statements and program plans (1963-1970) are also included.
