Covering three quarters of Australia, the Outback is one of the most rugged landscapes in the world. In this Globe Trekker video, Ian Wright journeys through Kakadu National Park, feeding crocodiles and encountering a black headed python along the way, to the Barunga Aboriginal Festival of sports and culture. He goes on a kangaroo hunt, tries his hand at bush poetry, works a cattle station, takes a hot air balloon over Alice Springs, dines on kangaroo tail during a desert trek, and is taught how to catch crabs by the Bardi people. He visits Australia's treasured natural landmark, Ayers Rock, and meets some of the few Aborigine people who still live around the now tourist destination. Ian ends up working as a bar man at a raucous Bachelors and Spinsters Ball before heading to the Bungle Bungles, spectacular ancient hills in the Kimberley Ranges.
