The spermatozoan concentration of rabbit semen estimated with an electronic particle counter was highly correlated to the concentrations obtained by the hemacytometer method. The electronic particle counter permitted faster and more reproducible counts than the hemacytometer but could not discriminate between spermatozoa and other particulate matter of near-equal volume.
