The results of previous studies with 32-Mev, 55-Mev, 138-Mev, and 400-Mev protons and 2-Mev x-rays are contracted with the present results of 55-Mev and 250-Mev proton irradiations of primates. A rad delivered by protons seems to be equally effective in producing injury as 2-Mev x-rays. The radiation hazards of the space proton environment are considered.
