The papers consist of correspondence between family and friends, Brumder business records, the Pine Lake property (Waukesha County, Wisconsin), and articles and research surrounding Milwaukee German ancestry. Scrapbooks, photographs, and negatives capture family celebrations and outings including George F. and Thekla Brumder's Panama Canal trip. Also included are research and family histories of Milwaukee surnames with German ancestry conducted and compiled by E.J. Brumder Jr.

- George Brumder Sr. was born in Breuschwickersheim, Bas-Rhin (currently part of France) on May 24, 1839. At age 18 he came to the United States to attend his sister Anna Maria's marriage, eventually settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
