The postcards show animals, mainly cats, dressed in human clothing and engaged in human activities including hunting, painting, playing musical instruments, cooking, dancing, and traveling by airplane. The Mainzer company was founded 1938 by brothers Renate and Alfred Mainzer in their New York City home.
